Albert is the son of a famous general in Paris, but finds his life quite boring. Instead of the various intrigues of court, Albert decides to take a journey with his friend Franz. During his journey, Albert meets a wealthy nobleman named The Count of Monte Cristo and is fascinated by his way of life. Albert thinks this interesting man is just what is needed to spice up life in Paris and invites Monte Cristo to join him in high society Paris. Unknown to Albert however, is that the count has already been to Paris and has a past.
